THE FILMMAKER
Adrian Marinovich
(January 9, 1952 – April 13, 2011)

Born in Toronto to refugees from Ukraine, Adrian Marinovich and his family relocated to Los Angeles when he was 6 years old. His childhood was largely spent struggling to find his place in an unfamiliar culture; as a teenager, he found temporary solace with other outcasts in the unforgiving society of gang life. Adrian’s innate intelligence and his desire to improve his circumstances led him to academic pursuits, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration, a master’s degree in public administration, and a doctorate in law. His achievements were gratifying – but his insatiable, empathetic interest in the human condition began to take precedence over his monetary successes, and prodded him to shift his focus and become a licensed psychotherapist. Adrian combined these seemingly disparate skill sets with his own personal experiences and has begun a new and joyful journey – the ongoing discovery of mysterious human truths, inspiring others to recognize their own value and find and accomplish their true purpose in life.
